It’s the end of the year not the end of the world, be responsible and do not ruin your life because this hype will end, but your responsibility for yourself and family remains.
I’ve seen it. You’ve seen it. There is something about the Christmas season that brings out the worst in spending habits. People will burn through their savings on a tree, decorations, and gifts, and when the savings are tapped out they’re breakout the credit cards and run it like they’re sixteen again.
Don’t do that. We don’t need to do that, right? It doesn’t make sense in the long run to go drain your bank and ruin your credit for one holiday. I know that we want the best holiday for the kids and family, but sometimes we have to operate and spend within our means, and there is nothing wrong with that. But the reason people do it is because they want what someone else has.
Don’t lose your mind over envy. Don’t lose your soul just so that you can gain what your perceive to be the “whole world”.
There is also nothing wrong with working hard to provide the best that you can for you kids and family, but do it for yourself. Do it for them.
