Mr. Deadman attempts to explain why he isn’t a fat shaming asshole, and fails. Hollywood, and indie films, and even literature might have a notorious reputation of typecasting, but it is his cynical attitude that is the problem. People are either praising Stephen King’s IT for the new Pennywise or hating it, Mr. Deadman claims that either way the film fucked up. Why would a horror film marketing consist of giving away the “big scare”. You keep the monsters in the closet until its time to come out.

Mr. Deadman reads a bit of Satan was a Lesbian and chugs a shot of cookie dough vodka every time breasts is mentioned. Sadly, Satan is never once mentioned in the book, but there might be some incestuous moments. Check it out for your self. Satan was a Lesbian goes for about $300 on Amazon because it is a rare and out of print book. Don’t spend the money. Instead, click on this link.

  1. On the subject of fat shaming, I have a story called ‘Shelf Life’ which I was, still am incredibly proud of. It was like the third story I wrote after ‘The Way Out’ and ‘Escape’ and I put it out there at an online workshop for people to critique. It is this weird horror story about a guy trapped in this supermarket that goes on for ever and ever with his wife who’s this sort of trace and all she does is shop and shop and shop like some robot.

The feedback I got again and again was about one tiny bit when the main character meets an obese woman and her stick thin husband. My thought behind it honestly was to create a surreal feel to things, but the amount of negative feedback I got from the workshop and then a couple of publishers (all female, incidentally) was such that I removed it.

The very next submission it got accepted, and it’s coming out in October. Just shows.
