Resident Evil

A new Resident Evil movie, really? Am I tho only one here that thinks this is a bad joke gone on way too long? I bet other horror sites and what have you will say some positive thing about this new chapter in a tired series, but I’m not some tool that will save face. I’ll call a movie, book, novel, short story out for being utter crap.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter plot is as follows:

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.

In what world does a corporation profit from KILLING OFF the ONLY survivors of a zombie apocalypse? Last time I checked zombies aren’t buying stuff. This isn’t Warm Bodies or Return of the Living Dead where certain and fun liberties are taken with zombies. No, this is bland as hell cookie cutter Resident Evil zombies with some crazy weaponized hybrids thrown in. Corporations, even the most sinister, realize they need people in order to make money, specifically people with money.

But, of course, Umbrella is an evil corporation that wants to kill off humanity for some trivia reason.

In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between regaining her superhuman abilities at Wesker’s hand and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.

New mutant monsters and super human abilities? What the hell, man? Am I the only one that thinks Resident Evil has totally lost the plot? They most certainly lost the charm that made the ORIGINAL first batch of video games WORK: survival horror! There is nothing horror about Resident Evil other than its existence.

Which brings me to the question: Do people really care about Resident Evil: The Final Chapter?
